In the Sea to Sky region, these stone structures have been embraced as a cultural and artistic representation of guidance, connection, and respect for the land. The  Ilanaaq Inuksuk was used as the emblem for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, symbolizing friendship, hospitality, and the welcoming spirit of Canada.
